Water Slide Materials Explained
Fiberglass Water Slides
Fiberglass, also known as FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), is the most widely used material for modern water slides. Fiberglass water slides are strong, durable, and resistant to weathering, while also providing a smooth surface for a safe and exciting ride experience. Compared with other materials, fiberglass allows more creative shapes and larger structures, making it the top choice for water parks and resorts around the world. Below are some examples of fiberglass water slides for sale we manufacture.
Plastic Water Slides
Plastic slides are a practical choice for kids’ zones and family areas. In our projects, “plastic” mainly refers to PE parts used on water play structures and PVC materials used for inflatable (blow-up) water slides. They’re lightweight, colorful, and easy to set up, but they’re designed for low-to-medium intensity use—while big, high-thrill slides are usually fiberglass.
PE (Polyethylene) water slides are widely used on children’s combination water play structures—the small slides connected to platforms, buckets, and spray features. PE is tough, UV-stabilized, and impact-resistant, so it handles outdoor sun and frequent kid use very well. The surfaces are smooth and easy to clean, and maintenance is simple. Keep in mind that PE slides are typically smaller in size and gentler in slope, ideal for shallow pools and kids’ areas rather than tall towers or high-speed rides.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) water slides
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) water slides here mainly refers to PVC-coated fabric used for inflatable / blow-up water slides. These slides are portable, quick to deploy and pack, and great for seasonal events, hotel lawns, or temporary pool attractions. They support vibrant colors and themes, and setup is straightforward (with continuous blowers or sealed-air designs, plus proper anchoring). Compared with fiberglass or PE, PVC inflatables are not for heavy, continuous throughput—they need drying and storage after use and may require patching for punctures or abrasion. They’re a fun, budget-friendly option when flexibility and mobility matter.
Types of Water Slide
Water slides come in many exciting shapes and designs, each offering a different kind of fun. From classic body slides and tube slides to thrilling speed slides, racer slides, and high-adrenaline rides like funnels, bowls, and AquaLoops, there’s something for every age group. For families, larger options such as wave slides and family rafting slides provide the perfect shared experience. With so many choices, parks and resorts can always find the right mix of slides to match their theme and audience.
